The Financial Analyst will support the Merchandising organization analysis of financial results through variance analysis to budget / forecast, and annual Budget, Bi-Monthly Forecasts, and ad hoc research and reporting for the CFO, leadership in Merchandising and / or Planning.

- Pay $40-50 / hour depending on experience level
- Contract-to-hire role
Responsibilities :
- Regularly interact with Merchandising to provide financial support, verification of results and reporting around Sales and Gross Profit.
- Analyzes trends and other relevant information to develop operating assumptions necessary to complete Business Plans, Budgets, and Bi-Monthly Forecasts.
- Gain a thorough understanding of key business drivers and effective communication of analysis.
- Address or escalate Merchandising inquiries as a primary financial liaison to ensure timely, appropriate action / resolution and / or effective interpretation of the financial implications of business activities.
- Participate in department initiatives to build / implement new tools for forecasting and budgeting.
- Work with numerous functional departments to build inputs into the forecasts / budgets.
Additional notes :
- Bachelors / 4year Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting preferred, not required.
- 2+ years of experience with financial modeling and reporting.
- Requires advanced computer skills using spreadsheet software, familiarity with database applications, downloading data from mainframe systems and use of word processing software.
