Machine Operator - Primarily focused on operating machines. This role reports directly to the Machine Department Manager
Responsibilities :
- Machine setup, operation, and maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ensure all safety and quality controls are always in place.
- Assist the Machine Manager in all continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
- Track individual production metrics daily.
- Operate a pallet jack as needed.
- Assist other departments in production when necessary.
- Ensure best practices being attentive and focused on the machines and materials.
- Maintain a culture within the Plant that promotes safety, ethics, integrity, and individual accountability. Maintain a positive and achievement goal oriented working environment for all employees.
- Provide training, direction, and support to employees on their assigned job responsibilities.
Requirements :
- Ability to lift 50 pounds intermittently.
- Ability to lift 20 pounds repetitively.
- Mechanical aptitude a plus.
- Experience in a metal fabrication environment a plus.
- Experience implementing LEAN Manufacturing principles a plus.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work the night shift.
- Night shift seasonal position with possibility of full time year round
- Must be mechanically inclined or come from a mechanical background
- Will train 1-2 weeks on day shift then transfer to nights
