Description
The Nurse Navigator functions on the multidisciplinary team as an advocate, coordinator and educator for oncology patients.
Responsible for ensuring all patients with an oncology diagnosis receive quality and comprehensive services. The navigator coordinates patient care throughout the continuum in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
The navigator will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in oncology care management while also providing guidance to the patient related to scheduling appointments, removing access related barriers including insurance and transportation, and answering clinical care related questions.
Serves as a liaison throughout the facility and in the community regarding services provided for this unique patient population.
Education
Bachelors Degree : Nursing (Required)
Masters Degree : Nursing (Preferred)
Experience
2 Years experience in oncology nursing (Required)
5 Years experience in nursing (Required)
1 Year experience in oncology nurse navigation (Preferred)
License / Certifications
RN-LIC - PA Registered Nurse License (Required)
OCN - OCN - Oncology Cert Nurse (Preferred)
