Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT)

We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT) to support a wide range of commercial, civic, K-12, and infrastructure-focused projects. This role is ideal for someone eager to apply their technical skills, learn from experienced engineers, and grow toward professional licensure.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building types

Support the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports

Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and multidisciplinary teams

Participate in construction administration tasks, such as responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals

Conduct site visits with senior staff to observe construction progress and gather field data

Communicate clearly in both remote and in-person team settings

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required

EIT certification preferred, or a strong interest in pursuing EIT / PE licensure

2-7+ years of experience in HVAC or plumbing design (internship or co-op experience counts)

Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD preferred (training available)

Strong technical aptitude with an eagerness to learn and take initiative

Must reside in Minnesota to support local site visits and construction administration
