Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Emergency Med Chair Office, is seeking a Clinical Research Administrator II.
The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) is excited to announce its research expansion and is actively seeking to support various research initiatives.
These initiatives may include federally sponsored research awards aimed at exploring topics such as identifying individuals who may be at higher risk for developing Opiate Use Disorder (OUD) when presenting with acute pain and being prescribed an opioid prescription.
Additionally, they are interested in research involving individuals already diagnosed with, or at high risk for OUD. This role involves primarily coordinating and carrying out administrative tasks related to grant awards, including pre-and post-award maintenance.
Additionally, it involves overseeing compliance and grant applications and providing support to faculty within the department.
General Responsibilities
- To demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contract principles, federal regulations, laws and UAB policy and operating procedures.
- To serve as liaison to the UAB Offices of Industry Engagement and Sponsored Programs in negotiation of confidentiality agreements (CDAs), contracts, and amendments related to the conduct of clinical research activities.
- To identify conflicts of interest, legal, IP and business / financial risk.
- To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Post-award administrative duties.
- Assist PIs and Manager - Clinical Research Coordinator with budget documents, grant applications, IRB, and grant compliance.
- Grant account set-ups and reclassifying to appropriate grants and post-award maintenance.
- Faculty / staff resource for support of clinical research.
- Processing reports, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Salary Range : $47,665 - $77,455
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
Preferences
Knowledge of IRB and grant process, with pre-and post-award experience a plus.
