POSITION SUMMARY This position provides clinical support to Hospital Medical Services by setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Formal Education / Training : High School graduate or equivalent. Workplace Experience : One year medical office experience and ability to communicate well Equipment and Skills Training : Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.

Physical Environment : Office environment. Physical Effort : Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, operate a computer / keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

• Schedules appointments appropriately
• Provides patients with reminder calls
• Answers phone politely and within 4 rings
• Coordinates between vendors and the physician
• Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
• Maintains current patient information
• Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the nurse / physician
• Follows proper lifting techniques to prevent back injury
• Maintains patient records
• Makes front desk deposits and maintains petty cash
• Ensures patients are informed of changes in office policies
• Delegates incoming faxes and scans patient paperwork / records daily
• Ensures patients insurance cards are current and billing is timely
