In the midst of a transformational project that adheres to best practices, process optimization, and continual service improvement, the Asset Manager's responsibility is to oversee the entire lifecycle of IT assets.

This includes managing procurement, operation, and disposal processes, ensuring assets are meticulously recorded, tracked, and managed within the ServiceNow environment.

The role demands a strategic approach to asset management, aiming to enhance efficiency, ensure compliance with relevant agreements, and drive decision-making through detailed asset analysis.

Ensure compliance with all licensing, warranty, and support agreements, mitigating legal and financial risks associated with IT assets.

Provide detailed reporting on asset utilization, performance, and costs, supporting strategic decision-making and effective budgeting.

Analyze asset data to identify opportunities for optimization, recommending cost-saving strategies and enhancements to asset management practices.

Collaborate with IT and procurement teams to streamline asset acquisition and deployment processes, aligning with project goals and timelines.

Contribute to the development and execution of policies and procedures for asset management, ensuring they align with federal regulations and agency objectives.

Participate in the planning and execution of the ITSM modernization efforts, leveraging asset data to inform strategies and priorities.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass a background check and receive a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years minimum relevant experience.
  • 8 years additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Desired Skills

  • ITIL v3 and / or ITIL v4 Certification(s) is highly recommended.
  • ServiceNow Certification(s) in various modalities is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in IT asset management, particularly within a ServiceNow environment or similar ESM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of ITSM, ITAM (IT Asset Management), and DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets and recommend actionable strategies.
  • Knowledge of federal IT regulations and compliance requirements related to asset management.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively across different teams and levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, agile project environment.
  • Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., CITAM) or ServiceNow is highly desirable.
  • The Asset Manager is a key figure in ensuring the Federal agency’s IT assets are managed efficiently and effectively, supporting the broader goals of ITSM modernization and service improvement.

By maintaining a comprehensive overview of the asset lifecycle and leveraging data for strategic decision-making, the Asset Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing the agency’s IT infrastructure and contributing to the success of the modernization project.
