High School Classroom Aide needed for Charter School in Philadelphia, PA

INVO is seeking a strong Classroom Aide to support multiple students in a Philadelphia Charter High School. Classroom Aide must have a minimum of an Associate’

s degree to provide academic and behavioral support to a group of five students within the school’s inclusive education program.

The aide will work under the supervision of classroom teachers and special education staff to ensure students achieve their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Academic Support : Assist five designated students with classroom activities, assignments, and projects, ensuring they understand the material and stay on task.
• Individualized Assistance : Provide targeted 1 : 1 support to students during lessons to meet their unique learning needs, as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or other learning plans.
• Classroom Management : Help maintain a positive and organized learning environment by reinforcing the teacher's instructions, encouraging appropriate behavior, and assisting with transitions between activities.
• Behavioral Support : Implement behavior management strategies as needed, following any established Behavior Support Plans (BSP) or teacher directions.
• Collaboration : Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to develop strategies that support the students’

academic and social growth.

• Documentation : Assist in tracking student progress by recording daily performance, behavioral observations, and any other relevant data for review by the teaching and support staff.
• Inclusion Support : Encourage and facilitate the participation of students in classroom activities and peer interactions.
• Supervision : Monitor students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch, recess, and field trips, ensuring their safety and engagement.

• Associate’s degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience working with high school students or students with special needs.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Patience and the ability to work with students who may have diverse learning and behavioral challenges.
• Preferred :
• Prior experience in a classroom setting, particularly in special education.
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior management techniques.

Work Schedule :

• Full-time, Monday through Friday during school hours.
• Additional hours may be required for meetings, professional development, or special events.
