Position Summary :
The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily activities of production operators in a fast-paced automotive die casting facility. The role ensures safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity standards are met while maintaining a positive and collaborative working environment. This position requires strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of die melting, casting, machining, assembly processes and automotive quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise all aspects of the die casting production process, including machine operations, die setup, and material flow.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations; conduct safety audits and promote a zero-incident culture.
- Monitor daily production schedules and adjust staffing or workflow as needed to meet output and delivery targets.
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Maintain high product quality by enforcing process controls and collaborating with quality assurance.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to production staff.
- Lead daily shift meetings and communicate priorities and performance metrics to the team.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for repairs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supervise daily operations to meet IATF and customer-specific requirements (CSRs).
- Maintain accurate records of production, scrap, downtime, OEE, OTD, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support lean manufacturing,5S, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Training employees on IATF standards, core tools, and quality procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in die casting automotive industry.Strong knowledge of aluminum or magnesium die casting processes and equipment.Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and other automotive quality standards.Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and develop solutions.Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP / MRP systems.Work Environment :
Must be able to work in a foundry environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery.Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and night shifts as needed.Interaction with cross-functional teams (Safety, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain).
