VP, AI Hardware Engineering

This confidential client, an innovative startup with secured funding, is co-developing hardware and software for AI acceleration.
Their advanced AI processors are designed to handle complex computer vision and machine learning workloads for inference at the edge.
At this stage of growth, they’re seeking an experienced VP of Engineering to be hands-on and lead efforts in creating high-performance, energy-efficient computing solutions.
This person will drive hardware / software co-development and lead a team to develop current and future generations of products.
This role demands a blend of strategic vision and proven, hands-on technical leadership to build and guide a team that is at the forefront of AI innovation.
Support Overall Strategic Vision
Champion the executive team's long-term vision by driving the execution of strategies aimed at bringing innovative AI solutions to market
Leadership
- Build, lead, and motivate a cohesive HW / SW team to ramp silicon from concept to production
- Communicate regularly with executive leadership and show decisiveness when advising changes to the technology roadmap
Technology Execution
- Own the design and development of hardware as well as the optimization of ML models and the software stack
- Architect the end-to-end process to ensure design flows deliver efficient outcomes aligned with the technology roadmap
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership, with a proven track record of success in leading and delivering impactful AI projects
- Deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning, compilers, and other relevant AI algorithms
- Passion for innovation and a commitment to develop AI ethically and responsibly
- Proven ability to build and manage high-performing technical teams
- Expertise in RISC-V or CPU design architecture is a bonus
