Job Title : Assistant / Associate Scientist

Location : Seattle, WA

Contract Duration : 12 months (with possible extension)

Top Skills :

• Either Upstream bioprocessing experience including aseptic technique, bioreactor operation and primary recovery OR Downstream bioprocessing experience using chromatography and tangential flow filtration.
• Experience with Pilot scale bioprocessing equipment greater than 50 liter capacity.

Responsibilities :

• The Assistant / Associate Scientist will perform execution of Adeno Associated Virus batches at the Pilot scale in support of process development and early clinical manufacturing for Cell Therapy programs.
• The position will require upstream and downstream unit operation planning and execution in a development environment including cell passaging, production, transfection, depth filtration, tangential flow filtration and chromatography.
• Data analysis, authoring technical reports, and presentation of results will also be required.

Education Requirements and Basic Qualifications :

• B.S. in Chemical / Biological Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry or relevant scientific discipline with 2+ years of biotechnology or cell therapy industry experience.
• Either Upstream bioprocessing experience including aseptic technique, bioreactor operation and primary recovery OR Downstream bioprocessing experience using chromatography and tangential flow filtration.
• Experience with Pilot scale bioprocessing equipment greater than 50 liter capacity.
• Experience with BOTH Upstream bioprocessing experience including aseptic technique, bioreactor operation and primary recovery AND Downstream bioprocessing experience using chromatography and tangential flow filtration. (preferred)
• Experience with Adeno Associated Virus upstream and downstream production and technology transfer. (Preferred)
