Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions (Open)
Admissions professional responsible for the recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment of students to the university's undergraduate programs. Accountable for meeting enrollment goals and working with Admissions leadership to develop and implement a plan for the recruitment, selection, and yield of students within an assigned territory.
Responsibilities include :
- Meeting transfer enrollment goals.
- Traveling to colleges, and regional recruiting events as a representative of the university.
- Interviewing prospective students.
- Conducting information sessions for prospective students and families.
- Reviewing application documents; making admissions and credit evaluation decisions both independently and as part of an Admissions Committee.
- Assisting in the planning, organization, and implementation of on and off campus recruiting events.
- Providing outstanding customer service to prospective students and their families.
- Contributing to the strategic and annual planning for Admissions, and the university as needed.
- Supporting supervisor to ensure the credit evaluations are completed for all admitted transfer students at the time of admission; and all requirements related to credit evaluations are in line with the Transfer with Success Act.
- Creating reports related to the Transfer with Success Act for internal and external constituents.
- Working collaboratively with university enrollment, academic advising, and student development offices to facilitate a seamless enrollment process for new transfer students.
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with transfer counselors from community colleges and community-based organizations.
- Participating in recruitment efforts and admissions initiatives that serve to advance the undergraduate enrollment goals, with specific focus on the transfer and adult learner populations.
- Coordinating and supervising targeted recruitment activities and other special projects as needed.
- Serving as the admissions liaison for veteran students, developing and implementing strategies to recruit veteran applicants.
- Maintaining and utilizing appropriate computer software programs related to admission recruitment duties.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree required.One to three years of professional admissions or school counseling experience preferred.Demonstrated enthusiasm for interacting with high-school aged students and their families.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Proven ability to meet performance goals.High energy, enthusiasm, and creativity.Willingness to travel extensively, and work evenings and some weekends for recruitment purposes; valid driver's license required.Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.Detail oriented.Possess a desire to work in a data driven environment and strong technical skills with the capability to learn new databases and communication software.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation.Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI) as well as a completed background check satisfactory to the university.Conditions of Employment :
