Description
Under policy direction from the Supervisor and with support of the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible to assist the doctor and other hospital staff by accurately filling in-house and outgoing medications (injectables / oral / liquids), communicating with clients and doctors to achieve medication refill approvals, phoning outside pharmacies to achieve refills, dispensing medications and educating clients on the administration and handling of medications, performing daily inventory and rotation of stock, accurate record keeping and inventorying of controlled substances (in appropriate logs) as dispensed and / or received, ensuring medications are stored in the appropriate environment, The Pharmacy Technician is to provide and maintain excellent client care (external / internal) service at all times utilizing multiple forms of communication.
IE : verbal (in person / over the phone), written (email / typed labels). Ideal candidates will have : >
3 years experience in retail and / or busy in hospital pharmacy. Able to work at least one weekend day. Exceptional at multi-tasking in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy.
