Production Control Manager
Responsible for scheduling of production and related supplies and services through customer delivery within the plant that optimizes production efficiencies and meets customer demand.
Interact frequently with plant operations, customers, sales, suppliers, and others regarding production schedules and order status.
Responsibilities
- Schedule production so as to optimize tonnage output while maximizing various manufacturing departments’ efficiencies including melt, mold, blasting and processing.
- Order required production supplies, containers, and services to meet production requirements while also minimizing related on-site inventories and costs.
- Interact and communicate frequently with manufacturing personnel to be aware of production capabilities, staffing and other related issues so as to optimize scheduling.
- Maintain an optimal inventory of finished goods and minimize work in process.
- Maintain inventory accuracy, perform cycle counts and coordinate required physical inventories.
- Manage the warehousing of finished goods and production supplies in a way that is systematically organized, utilizes an easy and efficient method of identification, storage, and retrieval of products, and is clean and well kept.
- Communicate regularly with customers, manufacturing, sales, and engineering as to production schedules and order status.
- Ensure that all production scheduling information is properly entered and maintained in the Production System (B&L).
- Supervise and direct material handling and scheduling personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement in the overall materials planning and management functions and identify and drive the adoption of best practices using knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts.
Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in materials management in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with ERP / MRP systems for Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in inventory control management.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Bills of Material, invoices, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous process.
- APICS Certification a plus.
