Job Title : IP Video Engineer II
Job Location : Alpharetta, GA 30009
Job Type : 12+ Month Contract
Summary :
The Service Assurance Engineer II performs analysis of Voice, Video, and Data services and identifies configuration issues that could result in loss of connectivity, degradation of performance or network and / or service outages.
The Service Assurance Engineer II utilizes various tooling and instrumentation to and takes action to prevent impairment as well as supports outage management for both incident and problem.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to those listed below :
- Completes and closes out incident tickets escalated to the Assurance team working
- Run health and performance reports to measure the health Voice, Video, and / or Data services on a daily basis.
- Provide 24x7 escalation support to Service Assurance I and WOW NOC in support of MTTR goals
- Executes maintenance activities for service technology
- Monitor and assess service quality for Voice, Video, and / or Data
- Maintain and analyze error logs and provide resolutions to problem
- Update site-specific daily logs
- Troubleshoot hardware failures and server issues
- Validate hardware and software
- Perform service health checks and backup plans
- Organize and plan system maintenance to avoid interruptions
- Uses defined methods and procedures to monitor network / services and respond to issues
- Leads and provides guidance to technical staff and / or Engineer I
- Responsible for training assigned work groups and leading work teams within the work group.
- Delivers presentations to general audiences and writes convincing proposals and reports with all necessary backup material for consumption
- Perform operational support for the infrastructure and applications supporting the provisioning and management of our services including platforms such as DNS, BAC Provisioning, Content Delivery Networks, and Orchestration Platforms.

Education :
BS required or equivalent work experience
Experience / Skills Needed :
- 3-5 years of work experience required (telecommunications industry preferred)
- Knowledgeable with a number of platforms and / or systems.
- Ability to be the subject Matter Expert in at least one area or system.
- Ability to exercise considerable latitude and technical judgment in deciding work methods
- Knowledgeable Internal applications : IP Management System, Performance Management, Analytic and Correlation Engine, Grafana, and the Switch Interface Tool.
- Knowledgeable of Cisco EC7 Controller, Motorola Dac Controller, Video Encoder / Decoder, Media Converters
- Knowledgeable of IP Networks and Subnetting
- Proficient in IP Multicast
- Knowledgeable of CDN networks
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand process flow
- Knowledgeable of RF / headend Architecture, RF / Qam Experience
- Knowledgeable of AC and DC power Plants
- Must Be Proficient with industry standard test equipment
- Telecommunications experience is preferred in the areas of VOIP, UC, IP Networking, server support / administration, web development, or any combination thereof.
- Familiarity with complex UC network configurations including both VOIP and TDM implementations, out-of-band signaling including ISDN, SS7 / sigtran, MGCP, SIP, H.
248, XMPP, and IP networking fundamentals including TCP, UDP, RTP, DNS, TFTP, DHCP,IPV4, IPV6, and SCTP.
- Knowledgeable with network tracing software such as Wire Shark
- Experience with the OSI model particularly as it relates to what functions affect or impact unified communications services.
Computer Skills :
- Microsoft Applications i.e. Excel, Word, Powerpoint
- Google Application Suite i.e. Drive
- Service NOW Ticket Systems
