Teaches and cares for a designated group of children, implements a developmentally appropriate program that addresses the cognitive, emotional, and social needs of each child while maintaining a safe, healthy and stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Teaches and cares using techniques in accordance with National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Developmentally Appropriate Practices, NAEYC Program and Classroom Standards, NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct, and DHS requirements for child care teachers STARS
- Exchanges daily information with families concerning the needs and progress of each child as well as biannual family conferences
- Uses appropriate tools to assess individual development and creates lesson plans accordingly
- Provides a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials with increasing difficulty, complexity, and challenge as the children develop
- Provides nurturance, care and emotional support while complying with Health Department, Department of Human Services and USDA-CACFP, and other regulating agencies
- Facilitates team meetings, planning and ordering supplies, and serves as the principle communicator for assigned team.
- Collaborates with Education Manager to provide ongoing education and training opportunities for teachers and families.
- Interviews teacher candidates and actively participates in onboarding and orientation process of new hires.
- Mentors practicum and internship students as well as other Teachers.
- Collaborates with other Lead Teachers and Manager of Education / Manager of Operations / Director in order to support program standards and facilitate program improvements.
Reports to the Manager of Education, Manager of Operations and / or the Director Childrens Place This position may have additional or varied physical demand and / or respiratory fit test requirements.

Health risks include probable exposure to diseases transmitted by oral-fecal route; works in an environment filled with items (toys, small furniture, providing numerous opportunity for slipping and falling.
Exposed to continuous noise up to 90 decibels. Continuous exposure to over-crowding and noxious odors. No provision of adult size furniture in classroom.

- 18 years of age
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or Childhood Development OR Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education / Child Development plus Oklahoma Directors Credential AND Oklahoma Certified Trainers Credential AND continued progress towards bachelors degree in ECE / CD
- Minimum of 2 years of experience at The Childrens Place at INTEGRIS Health W / Bachelors Degree OR 5 years of experience at The Childrens Place with AA Degree
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal / written)
