The Partnerships in Child Care division of Volunteers of America Greater Baton Rouge provides assistance, support, and information to Family Home Providers to improve the quality of their early childhood instruction and thus positive learning outcomes for children.
The Family Child Care Coach provides this array of support and guidance to early care and education programs through on-site coaching,technical assistance and assessments.
Family Child Care coaches schedule and conduct visits to Family Child Care homes participating in the program, to work with providers to implement best practices, implement strategies to promote sustained change, and support self-directed improvement.
They provide targeted coaching and technical assistance to Family Home Providers according to guidelines established by the program and the Louisiana Department of Education.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate credential and 3-5 years relevant experience in an early childhood setting.
Knowledge of CLASS, Teaching Strategies GOLD, and Louisianas Birth to Kindergarten Early Learning and Development Standards
Toddler and Pre-K CLASS observation reliability preferred
Knowledge about principle of adult learning
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in MS Office
Obtain appropriate criminal background clearance and do not appear on the State Central Registry
Must have safe, reliable transportation and be ready to travel across the PICC catchment area
