JOB SUMMARY :

The Director of Supply Chain - Source is a senior-level leader responsible for the overall strategy and execution of sourcing activities across multiple categories.

This role will oversee the sourcing, procurement, and management of key materials, goods, and services that drive the company's operational performance and directly manage and guide Commodity Managers, responsible for specific category portfolios, to ensure alignment with the company's strategic sourcing objectives.

The Director will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including operations, finance, product development, and suppliers, to ensure the business objectives are met while achieving cost savings, enhancing supplier performance, and ensuring continuous supply.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred).

Experience :

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or strategic sourcing.
• Proven track record of leading and developing a sourcing / procurement team in a large-scale organization.
• Experience in managing direct reports and supplier relationships across global supply chains.

Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and inspire teams to meet ambitious goals.

Negotiation Skills : Expertise in high-level contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and cost savings initiatives.

Analytical Skills : Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a focus on total cost of ownership.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to influence and communicate at all levels of the organization.

Technical Skills : Familiarity with procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Proficient in data analysis and strategic planning tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Strategy :

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the procurement of goods and services that align with company objectives.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives, value creation, and innovation through effective supply chain management.
• Lead negotiations for major contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms for the company.
• Establish short-term and long-term procurement goals, KPIs, and performance metrics
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high levels of performance and partnership.
• Monitor supplier performance through regular reviews, addressing issues, and ensuring continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships with key vendors for cost savings, risk mitigation, and value enhancement.
• Provide leadership and direction to the team of four Commodity Managers, ensuring that they are aligned with the overall sourcing strategy and business objectives.
• Mentor and develop Commodity Managers to enhance their skills in negotiation, category management, and supplier engagement.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the Strategic Sourcing team.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration :

• Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g., engineering, operations, finance, and product development) to understand and meet their sourcing needs.
• Collaborate with the product development and engineering teams to introduce new products and materials.
• Coordinate with the finance team to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of sourcing activities.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier dependencies, geopolitical concerns, and environmental regulations.
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
• Continuously assess market conditions to proactively respond to changes in pricing, demand, and supply dynamics.

6. Cost Management & Savings Initiatives :

• Lead cost-saving initiatives, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and value-add services.
• Conduct competitive bidding and supplier selection processes for high-impact sourcing categories.
• Track and report cost savings and cost avoidance metrics.
• Stay informed on industry trends, commodity markets, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in the sourcing process.
• Implement best practices for strategic sourcing, benchmarking against competitors, and ensuring alignment with industry standards.

8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
