Controller

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented individual to lead a finance team within a dynamic organization.

The person in this role will be responsible for managing all key financial activities, including payroll, financial reporting, and the day-to-day operations of the accounting team.

This role will report directly to senior leadership in the finance department and will involve a mix of in-office and remote work at a locally headquartered company.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, strong analytical and leadership abilities, and the capacity to build and maintain relationships with both staff and executives.

We are looking for someone who can lead by example and ensure the organization's financial accuracy and transparency.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee daily operations of the finance team, including tasks related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and the general ledger.
• Prepare regular financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Develop and implement business processes and policies to ensure robust internal controls.
• Work closely with human resources to manage the payroll process and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with external partners to meet all local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements.
• Manage and oversee company insurance programs.
• Support financial decision-making by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
• Coordinate the financial audit process with external auditors.
• Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and suggest corrective actions.
• Maintain records of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Oversee account reconciliations and ensure accuracy.
• Provide leadership to a team of finance professionals, including mentorship, guidance, and performance reviews.

Requirements :

• Experience in a senior-level accounting or finance role with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Experience with financial reporting, tax management, and auditing processes.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Previous experience in managing a team is preferred.

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
