Mobile Diesel Mechanic Technician - $3,000 Sign On Bonus - Atlanta, GA

Job Summary

Responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on company equipment consisting of preventative maintenance, minor to major repairs to tractors and trailers.

Essential Duties

• Conduct maintenance, preventive maintenance, on company equipment at a remote, onsite facility.
• Troubleshoot, diagnoses and repairs mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions
• Perform Preventable Maintenance (P.M) inspections to ensure DOT requirements are met
• Conduct road service calls during breakdowns within a 75-mile radius of Atlanta.
• Complete required documentation for vehicle repairs and parts usage
• Performs other tasks / projects as instructed by the Director and VP of Fleet Maintenance
• Ensure compliance within safety rules and regulations
• Perform all duties outside in various weather conditions
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Mobile mechanic cargo van provided with 10% travel
• Will be able to take mechanic cargo van home daily

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s license (CDL not required)
• Must be able to pass background check
• Must have a Toolbox
• Automotive / Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred. ASE certification preferred Diesel
• Minimum of 1 year of Technician experience with Class 8 Tractor & Trailer (no exceptions)
• New and Recent Diesel Mechanics are welcome. Must have graduated from an Accredited Diesel Mechanic program, or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and / or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds.
• Ability to move and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to inspect and or wash vehicles.
