Mail Delivery Driver - $18.00 / HOUR

We are currently looking for a Mail Delivery Driver for Cloudcroft, NM. The duties include

delivering mail and packages to residential and business customers, collecting outgoing mail, and sorting mail for delivery along a designated route. Key responsibilities also involve obtaining signatures for certain mail, providing customer service, and maintaining delivery vehicles. The job requires driving in various weather conditions, lifting packages, and often involves a repetitive but varied daily schedule.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivery and collection :  Deliver mail and parcels to customers along a planned route and collect outgoing mail from homes and businesses.
  • Sorting :  Sort mail and packages according to delivery sequence before loading them onto the delivery vehicle.
  • Customer service :  Interact with customers, answer questions about postal services, and handle complaints.
  • Record-keeping :  Maintain logs of deliveries, scan items, and obtain signatures for registered or certified mail.
  • Vehicle maintenance :  Load and unload mail and packages and perform basic maintenance and cleaning on the delivery vehicle.
  • Problem-solving :  Handle undeliverable mail and report delivery issues to a supervisor.

Required qualifications and skills

  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to drive in all types of weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads (often up to 50 lbs.) and get in and out of a vehicle frequently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic technology for tracking and navigation, such as handheld scanners.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.
