As a member of Northeastern’s Marketing department, the Designer collaborates with others to conceptualize and design creative communications and marketing initiatives for varied audiences.
The Designer applies an in-depth knowledge of color, design and typography to promote and elevate the university brand through high-visibility work, collaborating with cross-disciplinary team members and stakeholders to produce a wide range of projects.
This position is based on the Boston campus with the option of one remote day per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of marketing communications principles and print production processes.
- Composition, typography, and design skills.
- Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator. Figma and After Effects knowledge a plus.
- Other skills required include attention to detail; problem solving; initiative; verbal / written / presentation / interpersonal skills.
- Attributes include optimism, collegiality, curiosity, and humility.
- Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through a BA or BFA in graphic design or related field and at least three years of design experience that includes a track record of delivering fresh creative that works and a strong portfolio showcasing digital and print work highlighting skills in composition and typography.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Promote and elevate the university brand through high-visibility work, collaborating with cross-disciplinary team members and stakeholders to produce a wide range of projects.
- Support all aspects of conceptual graphic design, layout, design production, and general aesthetics for the content of several of the University's most important print and integrated communications.
- Draw creative inspiration from everyday surroundings; ideate and conceptualize new ideas; build and maintain fluency in brand guidelines and apply that expertise across all platforms.
