Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician
The Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinician (PBHC) collaborates with the care team to provide short-term interventions to children, adolescents, and their caregivers with medical and behavioral health needs in a pediatric setting.
The PBHC assesses patients, provides behavioral interventions, and offers education and referrals for further treatment to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with the care team to provide consultation and coordinate care for patients.
- Assess the clinical status of patients referred by pediatric providers through brief, consultative contacts.
- Use a strengths-based approach in working with providers and in conceptualizing children's behaviors.
- Provide solution-focused behavioral interventions and develop behavioral change plans to improve medical and psychosocial outcomes for children / adolescents and their families.
- Educate patients and caregivers about care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques.
- Participate in meetings and quality improvement activities as required.
- Assist pediatric providers in recognizing and treating mental disorders and psychosocial challenges.
- Work with pediatric care team to efficiently and effectively treat and manage patients with emotional and / or health problems.
