Job Description :
Jesus is LORD at Plantation Community Church. The church is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Family and Discipleship.
The Pastor of Family and Discipleship will be responsible for overseeing the spiritual growth and development of families in the church.
He will work closely with the senior pastor and other ministry leaders to ensure that the church’s vision and mission are being carried out effectively through the family ministry.
He will have a passion for discipling and equipping families to live out their faith in their homes and communities.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Oversee all aspects of the children’s, youth, and parent ministries, including programming, curriculum, events, and outreach.
Note : The Children’s Ministry Director and the Youth Pastor are directly responsible for their respective areas of ministry and will report to the Pastor of Family and Discipleship.)
2. Develop and implement a vision for family ministry that aligns with the church’s overall mission.
3. Disciple and mentor parents, equipping them to be the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
4. Develop and lead small groups for families to deepen their relationships with God and each other.
5. Provide pastoral care and counseling for families in need.
6. Recruit, train, and support volunteers who serve in family ministry.
7. Coordinate with other ministry areas of the church to provide integrated support to families.
8. Plan and execute family events, such as retreats, camps, seminars, and service projects.
9. Stay up to date on trends and best practices in family ministry.
Assist the Senior Pastor with duties such as preaching, teaching, and counseling as needed.
Qualifications :
1. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to live according to biblical principles.
2. A deep understanding of the gospel and a passion for sharing it with others.
3. A Master of Divinity degree.
4. A minimum of three years of experience in family ministry in a church setting.
5. Compassionate and empathetic, with a heart for pastoral care and counseling.
6. Strong leadership and communication skills.
7. Strong organizational and planning skills.
8. Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and volunteers.
9. Experience in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers.
Strong knowledge of current trends and best practices in family ministry.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The Pastor of Family and Discipleship will report directly to the Senior Pastor.
