About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - PACU Job Specialty : PACU Critical Care Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of two years' experience in a PACU with a critical care background;
experience in a similar-sized hospital or trauma center preferred License : Current RN License issued by a recognized nursing board or a current multistate compact RN License Certifications : - Current Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)- ACLS (American Heart Association)- PALS (American Heart Association) Must-Have : - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program- Good verbal and written communication skills- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors Job Description : Provide nursing care in a hospital to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex.
Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments;
note changes in physician orders.- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and perform minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.- Administer medication and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care.- Interact with families and patients to share care plans in the hospital and upon discharge.
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.- Perform other duties as assigned.
