The Heavy Haul Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing transportation operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and optimizing operational efficiency.
- Manage, plan, and evaluate daily operations in collaboration with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Monitor transportation quality, quantity, delivery times, and costs, resolving issues promptly.
- Order permits, schedule deliveries and maintenance. Control overall cost.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve transportation effectiveness.
- Foster a customer-focused, positive work environment based on trust and respect.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding driver issues, rates, customers, and proprietary information.
- Communicate company policies and plans to co-workers, providing feedback to upper management.
- Assist in optimizing asset management and business utilization to minimize operational expenses.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure trucks and trailers comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Provide backup support to terminal supervision and administrative staff.
- Supervise staff to ensure operations meet customer expectations safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Implement schedule and policy changes in collaboration with management.
- Collaborate with other managers, staff, accounting, and sales teams to implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Must have previous driving experience and ideally a CDL.
