Our client, a consumer product company in Orange, CA, is hiring a Technical Project Manager to join their growing team! In this role, you'll manage R&D and sustaining projects from ideation through launch.

They have 9 different products to launch this year, and you'll own several of them!

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering, and 5+ years developing mechanical-type products.

You have 2+ years managing projects and working with cross-functional teams and outside suppliers to create and manage schedules and tasks, assess risks, and drive projects to completion.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, remain calm under pressure, and have the confidence to build trust and positive relationships with others in order to get the job done.

What You'll Do

Collaborate across the organization to plan, organize, and manage all phases of an engineering product design and manufacturing lifecycle, ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.

Develop and manage project governance plans, project schedules, team goals, success criteria, project milestones, resource management, key metrics, and budgets.

Take ownership and responsibility for issue management, risks, decisions, and the overall success of a project with internal and external (suppliers) teams.

Create and / or manage all project-related reporting, documentation, and deliverables.

Implement standards, processes, and tools used for effective project management.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree - preferably in STEM field.

5+ years of mechanical, electrical or design product development experience.

2+ years of project management experience in a physical product development environment.

Experience with MS Project, Gantt charts, and Phase Gate process.

Entrepreneurial-minded, analytical self-starter and problem solver with the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to work across the organization to plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate the work of others.

Thrives in a collaborative environment, remains calm under pressure, and builds trust and positive relationships with others.

Ability to travel up to 10%.
