Maintenance- Electrical Technician

Hourly : $27-$32 per hour. DOE

We are currently looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to supports our flexible packaging manufacturing operations team.

This position will be responsible for making mechanical and electrical repairs to machines and facility as needed. Included but not limited to, automatic transfer switches, relay controls, programmable control systems for switchgear, medium voltage transformers and motor control centers.

This also includes total preventive maintenance, managing breakdowns of mechanical and electrical.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities, Maintenance and Electrical Technician must be able to :

Maintains the production machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities and grounds

Performs varied maintenance duties to include work orders and preventive maintenance to meet established maintenance and operations objectives.

Organizes work for smooth, efficient operations. Accurately tracks all time and materials used to perform work orders and other repairs using both manual and electronic means.

Troubleshoots equipment problems and performs necessary repairs. Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager before modifying any plant equipment.

Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System.

Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member

Ensures work area is kept clean

Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met

Provides support to production operator and crew members

Drives continuous improvement

Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

Familiarity with electrical drives, PLC's, reading electrical prints, machine controls.

Education / Professional Background

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience (3-5 in a supervisory role) in a packaging manufacturing

Experience with extrusion, flexo printing, and bag converting preferred

Experience with MVP Plant or other computer-based PM program

Professional Designation, Technical Certification or Professional Cards

None

Is an asset - specify : ASQ certified Quality Engineer highly desirable Is mandatory - specify : SQF, SQF Quality Systems Course, HACCP

Working Conditions :

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, as well as various analytical test equipment, and manufacturing operations equipment and machines.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and occasionally lift products up to 50 pounds.

This position may have exposure to hazards such as dust, high noise levels, solvent fumes, and medium heat.
