SETTY is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with over 10 years of solid MEP expertise to join our Fairfax, VA office.
This dynamic role is ideal for an energetic and motivated individual who can independently lead various phases of mechanical design for complex projects.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Perform all phases of mechanical design, from conceptual design to construction documents, including HVAC load calculations, system sizing & selection, and specifications.
- Lead design efforts on federal, healthcare, laboratory, pharmaceutical projects, schools, stadiums, and more.
- Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings, conduct code review and analysis, and perform field visits.
- Develop punch lists and ensure smooth project closeouts.
- Act as a representative of the firm internally and externally, delivering high-quality communication and leadership.
- Oversee construction observations and provide ongoing support.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with deep knowledge of engineering principles.
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with a focus on MEP systems.
- PE license required or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Solid understanding of psychometrics.
- USGBC LEED accreditation is a plus.
- Proven leadership in design and project management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple fast-paced, high-impact projects.
