About The Position
Job Title : Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty : Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 6 : 00 PM - 6 : 30 AM Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : 2+ years of critical care- Experience in an emergency department License : Must have a valid license in the state of practice.
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS)- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Must-Have : Experience with Cerner- Experience with all patient populations Job Description : Perform evaluations and administer respiratory care treatments as per physician orders and protocols.
- Educate patients with cardiopulmonary disabilities, injuries, and diseases.- Assemble and ensure proper function of respiratory equipment, identify malfunctions, and take corrective action.
- Collect and evaluate clinical information by assessing cardiopulmonary status.- Conduct therapeutic procedures to ensure adequate spontaneous and artificial ventilation.
- Maintain patient airways and remove bronchial pulmonary secretions, including care of artificial airways.- Recommend modifications to respiratory care plans and develop care plans in collaboration with the team.
- Evaluate and monitor patient responses to respiratory care.- Explain care plans, therapies, and goals to patients, and maintain records of communication.
- Initiate and modify respiratory care techniques in emergency settings.- Make necessary modifications in therapeutic procedures based on patient response.
- Perform procedures listed in general and critical care competency checklist and interpret results.- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to prevent nosocomial infections.
- Registered Respiratory Therapists with specified critical care experience can perform adult endotracheal intubation during code blue situations after appropriate training and competency.
- Review patient records and recommend diagnostic procedures.- Select, obtain, and ensure the cleanliness of equipment appropriate for the care plan.
- Serve as a resource for complex respiratory cases and provide in-service education to the department.Please ensure all qualifications and experience criteria are met before applying.
