- must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment License : Active NM or Compact License Certifications : BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring;
BLS and PALS through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross Must-Have : - EPIC EMR experience preferred- Ability to pass BCA testing during the first week of assignment Job Description : Provide nursing care in the Family Birthing Center with a focus on Labor and Delivery and Mother-Baby units.
- Utilize obstetric triage acuity tools to assess all triage patients from 20 weeks gestation.- Conduct labor assessment and evaluation, perform fetal evaluations, and prepare expectant mothers for delivery.
- Administer medications including but not limited to : Pitocin, misoprostol, methergine, hemabate, mag sulfate, terbutaline, labetalol, nifedipine, hydralazine, and insulin.
- Manage immediate stabilization of newborns, including administering newborn medications.- Prepare for scheduled or emergency cesarean deliveries.
- Provide postpartum care for both vaginal and cesarean deliveries and administer newborn care.- Newborn care includes hearing screening, assisting with laboratory draws, IV starts, medication administration (hep B, vit K, erythromycin, antibiotics), assisting with circumcisions, and caring for opiate withdrawal newborns.
- Stabilize critically ill newborns for transport and manage care for phototherapy and hypoglycemia.- No holiday time off requests will be approved for travelers.
- Must be flexible and adaptable to fast-paced environments.- Travelers will be first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the permanent assigned location.
