Sunterra Springs Independence is proud to announce a part time Speech Language Pathologist position. Sunterra Springs is a 38-bed skilled nursing facility across the street from Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

The skilled nursing staff consists of trained professionals that are prepared to provide extraordinary care for even the most complex health conditions.

Our Speech Language Pathologist would be responsible for the following :

  • Evaluating levels of swallowing, speech and language difficulty
  • Identifying treatment options
  • Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs
  • Teaching patients how to make sounds while improving their voices and maintaining fluency
  • Helping individuals improve sentence structure and vocabulary used in written and oral language
  • Working with patients in developing and strengthening muscles used to swallow
