About The Position
Job Title : Occupational Therapist (Seasonal) Job Specialty : Rehabilitation Services Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day - 5x8 - 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum of one year of full-time acute care experience or two years of skilled nursing / inpatient rehab facility experience License : Licensed Occupational Therapist Certifications : Two hours of CVA-specific continuing education within the recent four months Must-Have : Acute clinical therapy experience Job Description : - Implement physician's orders for occupational therapy services.
- Provide necessary occupational therapy within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate patient independence and safety.
- Utilize knowledge of growth and development in the care of pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.- Demonstrate skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
- Analyze data reflective of patient status and interpret information needed to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.
- Perform patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests and measures.- Construct short-term, long-term, and patient / family goals based on functional deficits.
- Establish therapy diagnosis and appropriate plan of care.- Demonstrate physical ability for tasks involving moving equipment and patients, with safety measures for all involved.
- Maintain secure documentation in the electronic medical record.- Use critical thinking in patient evaluation and treatment planning.
- Understand and apply physical agent modalities such as moist heat and paraffin in practice areas.- Comprehend the cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems, utilizing age-specific patient care indicators.
- Identify and address learning needs of patients and family members.- Collaborate as a team member to assist patients and families throughout the care continuum.
- Interpret and follow physician's orders, cooperate with coworkers, and be responsive to patient needs.- Demonstrate initiative in the completion of treatment.
- Perform physical demands such as constant walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.- Operate essential medical equipment and assistive devices like blood pressure machines and wheelchairs.
