Title : Senior Cloud Engineer (Kafka Messanging infra)
Location : Jersey City, NJ (3 days onsite)
Job Type : Full-Time.
Rate : $90 - $100 / hr on only W2
Skills Required :
- Must have experience with Kafka
- Proficiency in AWS and Terraform
- Go lang is a plus, but proficiency in Python or Java is acceptable
Job Summary :
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in providing technical guidance and direction to support our business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
You will be responsible for developing secure and high-quality production code, reviewing and debugging code written by others, and driving decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
Additionally, you will act as a subject matter expert in one or more areas, actively contributing to the engineering community by advocating firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide technical guidance and direction to support business and technical teams
- Develop secure and high-quality production code
- Review and debug code written by others
- Drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations
- Act as a subject matter expert in one or more areas
- Streamline installation, administration, monitoring, and production support for multiple cloud-native messaging platforms
- Automate provisioning with capacity based on on-prem usage
- Develop technical and non-technical processes for streamlined migration of applications from on-prem to public cloud using messaging components
Required Qualifications :
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
- Expertise in messaging systems such as Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.
- Proficiency in Terraform
- Proficiency in AWS messaging platforms like Amazon MSK, Amazon MQ, Amazon SQS, etc.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go, etc.)
- Hands-on practical experience delivering messaging systems design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight with large cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications :
- Familiarity with provisioning and public cloud-native components
- Experience in platforming solutions for general-purpose consumption within the enterprise is a plus
