Job Description
The Warehouse Associate helps protect inventory, receives, loads, and unloads materials. He or she must appropriately handle all materials following company policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace and may need to drive a company vehicle occasionally.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in a warehouse environment.
In addition, he or she must have the strength and stamina to perform the duties of this position (standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, etc.
and must have a forklift certification (or is willing to obtain our internal certification). Effective oral and written skills, good time management skills, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus but not required to be considered. All Warehouse Associates are required to wear steel toe boots for safety purposes.
HOURS :
- Monday - Friday 11am - 8pm
- Saturday 7am-1pm (1 required per month)
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Loads and unloads flooring materials and supplies ensuring proper handling at all times
- Moves materials within the warehouse as needed, using a forklift as required
- Follows all safety policies and procedures
- May be required to make deliveries or pick up materials and return to warehouse using company vehicle.
- Using computer to record inventory status
- Other duties as assigned including cleaning and sweeping
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment and with floor coverings highly preferred
- Sit-down forklift experience
- Excellent communication skills, computer experience a plus
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds
- Valid Driver's license a plus, good driving record a plus
