Our client, a Family Office Group of a national advisory firm with multiple locations throughout the US, is looking for a talented Tax Director.
This individual must have extensive HNW and UHNW tax compliance, tax controversy, advisory and planning experience. Great opportunity for someone coming out of a Top 50 CPA firm or a small family office.
Will be responsible for a small portfolio of clients across multiple industries and backgrounds.

Responsibilities
- Provide high quality individual, trust, estate, gift, foundation, and business tax compliance services as well as estate planning advisory services.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies in alignment with client goals and objectives, including coordinating with advisors to integrate tax considerations into financial plans and investment strategies.
- Review individual, trust, estate, gift, business entity, and foundation returns.
- Handle Federal and State tax notices and audits.
- Review and analyze estate planning related legal documents.
- Research Federal, State and International tax laws, prepare tax memorandums on technical topics, and develop tax savings strategies.
- Be proactive and stay current on new tax legislation and tax reform.
- Manage all aspects of client accounts with respect to tax, fostering client relationships, overseeing processes, and answering questions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, resource, and point of contact for clients’ broader advisory team, including wealth advisors, financial planners, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct internal business development and marketing, including networking, public speaking and authoring income tax planning and Trust and Estate related articles.
- Provide internal training and guidance on tax-related topics.
- Manage other members of the group including monitoring their workload.
Requirements
- BA / BS degree in Accounting from an accredited college / university required; Master’s in Taxation or Accountancy preferred.
- Active CPA licensed required.
- 8+ years progressive experience in public accounting required.
- Extensive experience in Tax Advisory and Estate / Trust planning and compliance for sophisticated high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
