Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated and driven Industrial Automation / Controls Engineer to join our expanding office in Lyndhurst, VA.

This position is responsible for the programming and implementation of various PLC systems used in an industrial refrigeration & construction setting.

We are a full turnkey design build refrigeration contractor including all mechanical, electrical, controls and service. This role is office based with occasional travel required during system startups or major controls upgrades.

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is a premier custom design build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.

Key Duties :

  • Program Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) logic (Automation Direct and Allen Bradley)
  • Program Human Machine Interface (HMI) Graphic Screens and software (Wonderware Intouch)
  • Startup and Commission new controls systems including Hardware and Software for the PLC, Job PC, HMI Graphics, Variable Frequency Drives, control and communications networks and other Electrical Hardware and Software
  • Collaborate with Project Design Engineers to complete as-built drawings
  • Collaborate with in-house Service Department personnel to troubleshoot electrical / programming related issues with Refrigeration Systems in service.
  • Provide direct assistance to our field team to troubleshoot electrical / programming issues
  • Travel for Startups : 20-30%, typically 6-8 trips per year lasting 10 days per trip

Requirements :

  • Previous experience with PLC programming
  • Knowledge of Automation Direct or Allen Bradley and PLC Direct hardware
  • AutoCAD knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of communication and controls networking principles

Preferences :

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Experience Wonderware Intouch
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and NFPA regulatory standards

This position is located at our headquarters in Lyndhurst, VA and will require 20-30% travel per year.
