Job Summary
The Fire Safety and Maintenance Technician will ensure the integrity of fire alarm systems by promptly responding to alarms, overseeing battery maintenance, coordinating repair services, and maintaining meticulous records.
Additionally, this role will oversee the upkeep and repair of light poles and posts. The position entails a variety of daily maintenance tasks and includes providing support to plumbing, HVAC, and electrical technicians as requested.
Responsibilities
- Respond to all fire alarms, reset panels as needed, facilitate minor repairs, and recordkeeping
- Serve as point of contact for the Fire Department and respond to emergency calls to assist in gaining entrance to buildings and fire panels
- Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and manage annual testing on fire alarm and fire suppression systems
- Perform light pole and light post banner changes and maintenance
- Submit a daily log sheet depicting the day's activities to the supervisor
- Serve as an after hours contact, respond to emergency campus for the University Police Department and other emergency calls
- Perform work order requests for maintenance and repairs on the buildings and furnishings throughout the campus

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
One (1) or more years of related work experience
Proposed Salary
$16.01 - $20.00 per hour

- Ability to use or learn to use a scissor lift and / or aerial lift
