Position Summary :
- This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with the knowledge of a Registered Nurse.
- Must demonstrate the clinical ability to work as RN on the unit assigned.
- Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required.
- Must possess ability to effectively function in a stressful environment.
- Responsible for performing assessments, developing a plan of care, implementing and evaluating the care for the patient during pre / intra / post cath lab procedures.
- Will be in a rotation of pre / post procedural care and cardiac cath lab procedural team.
- Must be able to coordinate the delivery of patient care on the unit; completes required documentation; participates in patient / family teaching and discharge planning, effectively utilizing the nursing process.
- Provides leadership by working collaboratively and effectively with physicians, ancillary staff and other administrative and support personnel in maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice in the multidisciplinary clinical setting.
- Provides the basic leadership required of a Registered Nurse for subordinate staff on the unit.
- Maintains quality delivery of patient care by completing patient assignments in compliance with the nursing process, Iowa nurse practice act, JCAHO and other regulatory bodies.
- Strives daily to give all customers very good care and promotes ORHC standards of behavior. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Licensure
Active Iowa RN Licensure
EDUCATION
Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BCLS, ACLS
EXPERIENCE
- Two years experience in Emergency or ICU nursing or related area preferred.
- Cath Lab experience preferred
