The Director of Finance & Accounting position requires strategic planning and analysis in reviewing current accounting and financial planning and budgeting procedures within a manufacturing environment.
The Director of Finance & Accounting will have a demonstrated ability to build confidence using effective communication in working with employees and the management team and is a key member of the management leadership team.
The position reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The Director of Finance & Accounting will provide the financial leadership and the financial management of the business and have prior experience overseeing all business operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, monthly and yearly close.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monitor policies and procedures within US GAAP, (generally accepted accounting principles) and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports / analysis with Senior Manager of Accounting and present to the management team and the HQ management.
- Handle the Audit process, Tax related activities, with Tax firm with Senior Manager of Accounting.
- Prepare annual budget, Mid-term, and Long-term plan in cooperation with management and department heads, reviews prior financial results and discusses anticipated changes to highlight future needs and trends of the facility.
This includes the preparation and documentation for the important meetings which are held in the HQ.)
- Act as a liaison point with the head office, especially the FA department, the corporate department, and other departments, to communicate, share information, comply with Glico Group regulations, and obtain best practices of the Group.
- Control risk management including Business insurance setting, Manage the compliance including the J-SOX requirement from the HQ.
- Assure the implementation and maintenance of effective "best practice" financial controls.
- Apply effective and prudent management of organizational resources within budget guidelines in accordance with laws and regulations.
- Utilize accounting best practices to strengthen and oversee an effective risk management program while applying corporate guidelines.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization to include the executive team in developing solutions to challenges facing transition and economic growth challenges.
- Lead and support the KPI setting for the company, departments, with CEO. And keep monitoring all KPIs to achieve the target and improve KPIs.
- Motivate the company towards goal setting in sales, profitability, cash flow and business objectives.
- Represent our client to internal stakeholders including HQ Executive staff, customers, suppliers, etc.
- Represent the operational and financial state of the company to Headquarters to ensure sales, profit, growth, and market share objectives are met.
- Manage the Finance team.
- Improve and maintain the ERP software as an administrator.
- Lead and involve in any project including a new product launch. Calculate income and expenditure for each product, including manufacturing and processing costs, raw material costs, etc.
and visualize points for improvement.
Formulate the income and expenditure for each channel, product, and capital investment that will be the data for business decisions.

Position Requirements
- BA / BS, finance, economics, or business administration, or equivalent; finance or economics preferable CPA with Cost Accounting experience required.
- 10 years plus progressive experience in food or consumer goods manufacturing and distribution in a publicly traded company required.
- Demonstrated experience in presentations to the Management team.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in contract negotiations and establishing and maintaining relationships with service providers and vendors.
- Proven executive financial manager capable of delivering results through leadership in a matrix, international organization.
- Proven executive manager in delivering results through leadership of the accounting department.
