Position Details
Qualifications :
- Minimum requirement of Bachelor degree in education
- Possess or be eligible for a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate special education endorsements
- Meet Highly Qualified requirements
- CPI Training Preferred
Duties :
- Responsible for planning instruction and / or adaption of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences.
- Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
- Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.
- Evaluate student progress based on papers submitted, test scores and observation.
- Monitor student progress in and outside the special education room.
- Maintain the physical environment of the classroom.
- Maintain contact with parents of students.
- Evaluate student progress based on work output and observation, determine goals, objectives and directions.
- Prepare report cards, educational records, IEP forms, classroom observation records, and other forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
