School Bus Driver - No Experience Needed - Training Provided
Location : 2161 Foster Ave, Wheeling, IL 60090. Walk-in interviews : Monday–Friday 9am–12pm and 1pm–4pm. BRING A FRIEND. Starting pay rate : $30.00 per hour. Job type : Part-time. This role involves getting students to school safely and on time, with a strong emphasis on safety and professional conduct.
Company name : Septran School Services. Pay for routed drivers is $30 / hour. Paid training for routed drivers is $30 per hour. Employees are eligible for Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act (PLAWA).
All interested applicants for a Driver position begin as a Driver in Training, with training to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) and related endorsements where available. Upon successful completion of the training, the individual is placed in a Professional Driver role.
Responsibilities
- Provides safe and reliable transportation by operating a school bus or other location-specific vehicle with a fixed or changing route.
- Exhibits high ethical standards and integrity; reports suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervision.
- Reports to duty on time and maintains on-time routing in a safe manner.
- Physically assists passengers in evacuation during emergencies.
- Immediately reports any accident or incident per Company policy.
- Follows Company Policy around student and / or passenger management.
- Informs appropriate personnel of problems or procedures.
- Presents a neat and professional appearance at all times.
- Completes required paperwork (e.g., route change sheets, time cards, vehicle repair requests) and submits promptly.
- Maintains cooperative relationships with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and passengers to promote goodwill.
- Safely uses vehicle equipment, including wheelchair lifts, radios, and emergency equipment.
- Other duties as assigned; additional responsibilities for Paratransit Drivers may apply per location.
Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years of age; for Tennessee, at least 25 as per state law.Must possess or obtain all valid applicable state licenses and required certifications to operate company vehicles.Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; safety-sensitive position with random screening.Must satisfactorily complete and pass all training.Must practice defensive driving and maintain safe driving and work habits.Compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, district, and contract-specific driver requirements.National Express has a zero-tolerance policy on conduct incompatible with policies and values, including sexual exploitation and abuse, harassment, abuse of authority, and discrimination.
