Job Description :
- Performs all procedures proficiently and strives to maintain high quality.
- Assists Radiologists and / or Physician with invasive procedures using aseptic / sterile technique.
- Properly prepares and administers contrast materials associated with imaging procedures that are within the scope of practice as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
- Prepares scan room for procedures using approved cleaning protocol.
- Appropriately discards sharps and maintains adequate level of supplies and linen.
- Assures that proper radiation safety measures are being utilized.
- Knows and implements emergency procedures as needed.
- Performs department and hospital related computer functions pertinent to job.
- Enters and records data accurately and promptly.
- Exhibits competency in performing QC tasks associated with equipment and procedures and ensures standards are met according to state and federal regulations.
- Stays abreast of organizational, affiliate and departmental changes / updates by checking email on each shift
- Provides clinical instruction to student and staff technologists.
- Participates independently in call rotation.
Experience Required for Your Success
Education Requirement
Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Experience
- 1 year of experience working as an Interventional Radiologic Technologist, or;
- Successful completion of an IR clinical rotation during a formal education program
Licensure / Certifications
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (RT.R.ARRT) certification in Radiography required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (RT.VI.ARRT) or (RT.CV.ARRT)
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire
