Sr. Solutions Architect, GFS Solutions Architecture, GFS - SA Account

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced and motivated technologist who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills.

As a Sr. Solutions Architect, you will partner some of the world’s largest financial services industry (FSI) companies, AWS account management and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a small set of systemically important global FSI customers.

As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help these organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud.

You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mind-share and broad use of AWS within enterprise customers.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software / technology sales or consulting. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect.

You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. Above all, have a passion for building technology solutions that solve business problems.

• The ideal candidate will have past experience working as a software, systems engineer, and architect. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones.

This will allow you to contribute to deep architecture discussions to create world-class solutions built on AWS technology.

Key job responsibilities

Build trusted relationships with the D-Suite, C-suite (CIO, CTO, CISO, etc.) and Enterprise architects; understand the customer’s technology challenges;

dive deep and understand stated, unstated business needs, and challenges.

• Own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
• Working backwards from the customer's business needs, build a holistic technology vision, strategy and practical transformation plan;

addressing technology challenges but also increasing business impact, innovation and agility, addressing skills and org challenges.

• Build a strategic eco-system of AWS consulting, integration and delivery and ISV partners to support the delivery of customer’s digital transformation outcomes, increase satisfaction, and build a sustainable platform for sales growth.
• As a key member of the sales team, ensure success by formulating and executing a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS technology
• Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers.
• Advocacy; Represent the AWS technology strategy for FSI internally and externally, industry events, media, etc. Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as blog posts and white-papers

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 8+ years of IT development or implementation / consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with end user or developer communities
• Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux / Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA / DR, & storage architectures
• Experience working with AI / ML / GenAI to solve customer business problems.
