Direct Support Professional - PT or FT Shift - Clark County
Job Description
Starting Rate : $15.00 / hour Full Time employees eligible for benefits 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment
Direct Support Professionals in this role serve individuals with intellectual and / or developmental disabilities; candidates that will be considered for this position must be available to work at least one weekend per month.
Individuals in this position shall aim to assist clients in leading a safe and meaningful lifestyle through community integration, and in gaining independence with day-to-day activities through skills training activities and the implementation of goal related activities.
This individual must be able to work with clients in home-based settings as well as in the community. Day-to-day activities range from in home care of 1-4 individuals (promoting independence in the home including hygiene care, preparing meals, and basic up-keep of the home) and one-on-one activities in the community (assisting our clients in increasing community integration by providing assistance with grocery shopping, attending medical appointments, sporting events or concerts in in the park).

QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must possess a high level of patience and tolerance, and the desire to assist others to reach their potential
- Ability to work as a team member and take direction in order for team to accomplish goals and objectives
3. Complete all annual tests and trainings including but not limited to TB test or chest x-ray, SCM, CPR, First Aid, and BBP Certifications, Core A / B, ISP / PCP, Incident Reporting, Abuse / Neglect / Exploitation, Documentation, and Transportation
4. Must possess a valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance coverage per company policy, and have a vehicle that is reliable for transportation of clients
5. Experience with adults with developmental disabilities or functional impairments
EDUCATION / YEARS OF EXPERIENCE :
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-year experience preferred with individuals that have developmental disabilities and / or functional impairments
