Position Summary
Under the general supervision of preschool directors, teachers provide a stimulating, safe and developmentally appropriate educational environment for children.
Prepares lesson plans, documents children’s progress, conducts conferences and an Open House for parents, attends various programming activities and maintains classroom space and supplies in orderly condition.
Full-time, permanent positions include excellent benefits including health insurance, vacation and sick leave and JCC (health club) membership.

Responsibilities
- Guiding babies and toddlers through education / development programs.
- Thinking on their feet and responding to each child’s needs efficiently.
- Displaying a patient and calm personality coupled with a loving approach to every child.
- Organized
- Multi-tasker
- Effectively collaborates & communicates with colleagues & families.
- Contributing positively to the behavior and social interaction of the children.
- Building secure relationships with the children.
- Reporting accidents, illness of children to the director and parents.
- Ensuring close communication with parents throughout the day.
- Other duties as needed.
Position Requirements
Assistant Teacher Requirements :
- Experience in an Early Childhood Learning Center
- 40 hours preferred
- High School Diploma or Associate Degree (recommended).
- CPR certified and trained.
- Complete Background Check.
- Previous experience in a preschool.
- A passion for working with babies and toddlers.
- Patient, nurturing and thoughtful.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be open to ongoing professional development
Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds and do the position as physically required, lifting children who may need comforting or may not feel well, etc.
Teachers must be able to stand on the playground for 20-30 minutes, supervising children.
