DescriptionSummary : The Trauma Registrar Senior will provide data entry support for the Trauma Registry and as time permits, clerical support for the Trauma Program Director and Trauma Coordinator.
The Trauma Registrar Senior will be responsible for assistance in maintaining the CHRISTUS Health Care System's Trauma Registry in compliance with all requirements of the Department of State Health Services, as outlined in the State Trauma Rules.
The Trauma Registry is critical to the development and maintenance of an effective performance improvement program for trauma.
The Trauma Registry also provides data needed for research and epidemiological studies.Requirements :
- Trauma registry software training within ninety (90) days of employment.
- AIS coding within twelve (12) months of employment for the current version used by the trauma center.
- A trauma registrar course or equivalent within 12 months of hire.
- Continuing education will be required as per the American College of Surgeon’s criteria.
- Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive medicine, preferred.
- ICD-10 course in trauma within first year of hire and every five years, thereafter (may be a refresher course).
