Department Summary

Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Billing and Credit department supports the needs of DISH subscribers, agents, installers, and external departments by providing upfront analysis for enterprise releases and projects.
The department also provides support for back-office operations and processes. The department is comprised of multiple facets with specific focus on targeted operational objectives that include, but are not limited to :
- Billing Accuracy
- Customer Payments, Refunds, and Chargebacks
- Customer Fraud
- B2C and B2B Revenue Assurance
- Vendor Relations (B2B clients, Payment Gateways / Processors, eCom, etc)
The Finance Manager will lead the Finance team within Billing and Credit for all billing, payment, bad debt, and G&A budgets for Dish and Boost Mobile.
A successful candidate will have a strong focus on team and employee development, and the ability to manage multiple processes and workstreams.
Also, this candidate will work on various managerial functions, data analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manages the Finance team daily operations including hiring, performance evaluation, providing constructive feedback, and directing workflow and team responsibilities
- Develops a thorough understanding of their financial area to serve as the Subject Matter Expert, which involves the communication of financial results within and outside of the department, identifying areas of improvement, and working with operations teams to help them understand financial impacts.
- Reviews monthly departmental accruals and invoices, as well as quarterly purchase order requests, to the Accounting department
- Monitors and reports on financial activity, and effectively communicates any outliers
- Identifies trends in the financial results to facilitate strategic business decisions
- Manages team who create detailed and accurate forecasts to facilitate future business decisions
- Works well with deadlines, while also being able to adapt well to change in a dynamic business environment
- Oversees team responsible to reconcile financials and resolves variances with the Accounting department during the month-end process
- Effectively communicates monthly financial results to department and company leadership
- Completes cost-benefit analysis for enterprise projects to understand the financial impact
- Creates ad-hoc reports as requested in a timely and accurate manner, assists leadership with various tasks and items as needed, complies with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensures honest and ethical conduct at all times while maintaining a positive attitude
- Identifies potential opportunities for process improvement and report automation using various methods, i.e. databases, spreadsheets, external data sources, IT development, and execute changes to systems with little or no impact
- Ability to engage team development and foster employee career growth
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, finance or accounting concentrations preferred, and 3-5 years experience in a finance related role;
or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Qualifications :
- Experience with analytical reporting, data analysis, forecasting, and making recommendations based off of gathered information
- Natural curiosity to explore complex problems and offer well-thought out solutions; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced-level skill and experience with Microsoft Excel
- SQL experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, procedures and instructions; write routine reports and correspondence;
speak effectively before groups of vendors and fellow employees
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, as well as interpret an extensive variety of technical and non-technical instructions, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Salary Ranges
Compensation : $83,950.00 / Year - $119,900.00 / Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies;
compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
