Salary : $24.00 - $28.00 DOE

We are currently seeking a Machine Operator, Level 2 to work 5 : 30a.m. to 2 : 00 p.m. This position works in manufacturing and operates pressure test, deburr machinery, measurement systems, fitting installation in end-prep and swage areas.

The Machine Operator Level 2 is expected to work independently without supervision required. Training and guidance will be offered and available when needed to learn more about a task or learn a new task.

Ability to drive and operate forklift and company pickup truck

Working mathematical skills, especially conversions and unit of measure (UM)

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working in a shop or manufacturing environment

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working within ERP systems

Preference will be given to candidates with blueprint / drawing reading aptitude

Preference will be given to candidates with experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers

Successful candidates will be required to pass background check

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Operate machines such as (but not limited to) :

  • Measuring parts using Supravision VMM, and Tubshaper software
  • Tube deburr and flaring machines
  • Pressure test machines
  • Tube cutting band saws
  • Disk and circular grinders
  • Pneumatic hand tools

Locate and decipher customer and industry specifications within engineering documents

Precisely perform tube manufacturing operations in accordance with customer and industry specifications, as well as internal work instructions

Maintain clean and safe work environment

Operate equipment in a safe manner

Understand and be certified for the use and care of basic metrology, i.e., micrometers, etc.

Understand and read blueprints, i.e., part views, definitions, and foot notes

Understand and conform to relevant areas of the quality manual, quality procedures and training

Understand and input all relevant process and IPC data into ERP system and part level during part run

Accurate and complete time tracking with achievement of expected Time Against Work Order targets

Be attentive and prompt to load and unload production part at beginning or end of single or flow cycle, as well as keep up with offline support tasks, such as deburring and sawing

Maintain awareness about cutting tool cutting malfunctions and burr development. Report areas of concern to an intermediate or senior level operator

Future opportunities for 2nd shift 1 : 30p.m. to 10p.m

Sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching, squat / kneeling, working above shoulders, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a standard office environment and occasionally to a manufacturing environment.

The noise level in the manufacturing environment has the potential to be 89.4 decibels, which requires OSHA approved ear protection.

Frequently used PPE if in the manufacturing environment is : Ear protection, dust masks, respirators, gloves and safety glasses.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This role currently has no direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.

Education and / or Experience :

Entry level to 10 years work experience. The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent with experience in manufacturing and Aerospace preferred.

Experience with CNC operation is preferred.

Computer Skills :

To perform this job successfully, the individual must have working knowledge of typing, Windows, Microsoft Office, and website / ERP system navigation.
