Job Overview :
As a Systems Administrator at Leidos, you will play a crucial role in managing, maintaining, and securing IT infrastructure in support of essential national defense and security operations.
You will work in a collaborative environment, troubleshooting technical issues and optimizing systems to meet operational needs.
Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of mission-critical systems used by the U.S. government and other clients.
Primary Responsibilities :
- System Maintenance & Monitoring : Maintain and monitor server and network infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Security & Compliance : Implement security measures such as firewalls, access controls, and regular patching to safeguard systems against unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
- Backup & Recovery : Manage system backups, disaster recovery planning, and data restoration to ensure business continuity.
- Software & Hardware Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity, minimizing downtime and disruption.
- User Support : Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting system-related issues and ensuring effective operation of user workstations.
- Automation & Optimization : Use scripting and automation tools to streamline system processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual tasks.
- Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate system documentation and produce reports on system health, security incidents, and IT infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaboration : Work with internal teams and external partners to deploy new systems, enhance existing systems, and improve overall IT strategy.
Required Qualifications :
- 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT role.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server, Linux, and VMware environments .
- Strong understanding of TCP / IP networking, DNS, DHCP , and other network services.
- Experience with Active Directory management and administration.
- Security+ or equivalent certification is required.
- TS / SCI security clearance (or eligibility to obtain clearance), as this position may require working on sensitive government projects.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
